ReBoat Pilots: Circularity in Motion
ReBoat is launching two pilot projects in the Eolian and Ionian islands, testing a mobile, modular recycling system that transforms local waste into new products. These pilots will engage communities, artisans, and tourists in a circular economy, shaping sustainable solutions for island waste management.

The Eolian Islands
The Eolian Islands, a volcanic archipelago in Italy, are known for their stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Tourism peaks in summer, leading to increased waste generation, making them an ideal site for ReBoat’s circular solution. Through local engagement, the project will transform plastic and textile waste into valuable products, benefiting both residents and visitors.

The Ionian Islands
Located in western Greece, the Ionian Islands boast crystal-clear waters, lush greenery, and a vibrant tourism industry. Seasonal waste surges challenge local waste management systems, highlighting the need for sustainable solutions. The region also faces unique challenges due to "double insularity", where smaller islands depend on larger ones for resources and waste management, increasing logistical difficulties. ReBoat will introduce an innovative recycling approach, turning waste into resources while fostering community and tourist participation.
